Marie Stultz

Marie Stultz is a music educator, composer, and choral consultant. She has published four books on music education, and has sponsored workshops, lectured, and conducted worldwide.

Marie is an authority on training the young voice, and has devoted most of her life to training young singers in the classics. Over her more than 30-year musical career, she has trained thousands of accomplished students ranging in age from five to 18. Twenty-one of her private voice students have participated in the prestigious Tanglewood Institute. Many have gone on to highly successful careers in music as conductors, teachers, and performers.

After 28 years as Artistic Director of the Treble Chorus of New England, which she founded, Marie became artistic director emeritus, and has now founded The Young Opera Company of New England (YOCNE) which is based in Andover, MA.

During the past year, she has created an extensive choral literature project for the Choral Excellence Series based in Waitsfield, VT. Choral Literature for Treble Voices: Your Guide to the World's Finest Choral Literature includes both a book and state-of-the-art website containing an extensive annotated bibliography in a searchable database form. In May 2002, Marie received the Teacher Recognition Award from the Presidential Scholars Program from the Secretary of Education Rod Paige. She has also received an ASCAP recognition award every year since 1996.

New England Youth Choir Festival

“I have greatly enjoyed my association with the Treble Chorus of New England, a fine group trained and conducted by Marie Stultz,
widely recognised as a very accomplished conductor, composer and arranger. It is immensely stimulating for a Youth Choir to meet other Youth Choirs and to rehearse with them to a high standard, prior to giving a joint performance in an important venue.”

Sir David Willcocks

This Festival for Youth Choirs is dedicated to fine music and fine performance to advance the quality music education and performance of young singers.

The past two, highly successful events in 2000 and 2002 held in the Boston area were conducted by the reknowned composer and conductor Sir David Willcocks.

“There are not enough superlative adjectives in the English
language to describe this past weekend. I think without a
doubt, it was the highlight of my career. I shall forever
be in your debt for giving me and my girls this wonderful opportunity.”
